Bloom From Within
How Inner Authority Becomes the Soil of Sovereignty
“Return to your inner authority.
Someone who grows their own food cannot be starved.” — Imani Sankofa
My first meaningful experience was with my mother. She was the first person who reflected me back to myself, my first relationship, and my first teacher in both love and absence. There were a few times she said “I love you,” not many hugs or kisses, and little emotional comfort. I spent much of my childhood alone, sitting with my thoughts, feelings, and inner world.
In that quiet, I learned to comfort myself and become emotionally independent. I started listening for a deeper voice within me that offered wisdom, reassurance, and truth. Even before I knew what to call it, I was finding my own inner authority.
I realized that when someone learns to nurture themselves, they build a direct connection to clarity, self-worth, and Spirit. When love, validation, and reassurance come from within, life starts to feel truly different.
My early experiences showed me how to connect with people who have different ways of loving. Some people are open-hearted, and their presence feels warm, mutual, and emotionally available. Others are more closed off, and their affection can be guarded, unpredictable, or hard to reach. Understanding this changed how I see relationships.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that wisdom comes in layers. We see the truth as we become ready for it. As we grow more stable inside, we find the strength to see things more clearly.
I see why some relationships were painful, why being alone mattered so much, and why tough experiences were shaping who I am inside. Quietly, I was growing stronger roots as I learned to find support in truth and spirit. I used to think of myself as a late bloomer, but now I see I’m growing from the inside out.
Inner authority is the wisdom and guidance that lives inside each of us. It includes our sense of knowing, self-trust, and confidence. It helps us see which relationships can give us love and help us grow, and which ones connect in a different way.
Love became a gift rather than something I needed to survive. Truth became my guide, and being alone became something sacred. My roots grew deeper, my heart opened, and my life began to reveal the beauty that had always been inside me.
The experiences that shaped me led me to this moment. Silence taught me to listen to my own voice, and I learned how to develop my greatest gifts. When I turned back to my inner authority, I realized that everything I needed to grow had been inside me all along. 👑
